Meet the SchoolTrex family! 

The players:  Logan, “The Parents” (Frank & Greer), and "The Dogs" (Sarge & Koko)

The problems:  An early reader and gifted student, Logan was already doing math at the grade level above. Continuing to challenge him academically in all studies was becoming increasingly difficult in the traditional school setting.  Skipping 5th grade entirely was an option, but “The Parents” weren’t sure Logan was quite ready to handle the social challenges of middle school.  Additionally, “The Parents” require constant stimulation and activity.  They both traveled extensively while in the Army and have become quite stir crazy upon retirement.  A year of COVID had not improved the situation any.  After Frank retired again from his second career this year, it became more evident than ever that a whole family solution was needed for the next year. 

The solution:  We bought an RV!  After much research, debate, and tears, “The Parents” decided to homeschool and have Logan combine 5th and 6th grade into one year. We started planning how to go about seeing the great United States of America and use it as a learning platform for Logan. SchoolTrex was born! We hope that you will keep following our adventures as we continue the SchoolTrex year!
